Imelda’s growth at ETNA

‘Here, I get the confidence to grow in my work'

In October 2015, Imelda took her first steps at ETNA Coffee Technologies as an assembly worker. Now, more than eight years later, she is a line supervisor and responsible for the department where wiring harnesses are made. A role that fits her to a T: "The work gives me energy and I enjoy motivating and supporting my team."

Growing within ETNA

In October 2015, Imelda joined ETNA Coffee Technologies as an assembly worker. She has since risen to line supervisor; manager of the department. She really loves it. “It’s nice here and I get a lot of energy from this work.”

Since January 2023, Imelda has been line supervisor of the department where the wiring harnesses for the coffee machines are made. “ETNA shows that they have confidence in me,” says Imelda. “I’m given all kinds of opportunities to develop myself, and I’m happy to take them! I didn’t do any training, but reached this level purely by experience. Of course, I took a course before I started as a line supervisor. I have really grown in recent years, both at work and in my personal life."

Family feeling

Imelda likes to work with her hands. "My work has become my passion, I want to inspire my teammates and make them feel good. When new colleagues join my team, I like to do everything I can to help them and teach them the skills they need. This also reflects the family feeling within ETNA: we all pull together. And it’s great that I can really be myself here, I don't have to put on a mask and everyone is appreciated. It is hard work, but there is also room for sociability. The atmosphere among colleagues is so pleasant that we meet regularly outside working hours."

Love for deadlines

What does Imelda’s working day look like? "In the morning, an order list arrives with what needs to be completed that day. Based on this, I make a schedule. For me, the most important thing is that we achieve the day’s goal, of course without mistakes. If something does go wrong, I have to make adjustments. This sometimes means calling a colleague to account for mistakes. This isn’t always pleasant to do, but it’s necessary to be able to achieve the desired result. Fortunately, I love deadlines. I get up every day with a positive attitude and am always keen to go to work. As long as I don't get that unpleasant feeling in my stomach and don't go to work reluctantly, I hope I can continue working at ETNA until I retire!
