What was supposed to be a temporary position ended up being the starting point of a wonderful career. Eight years ago, Glenn started as an assembly worker at ETNA Coffee Technologies through a temp agency. Temporary, was his intention. But things turned out differently and he has since progressed to become a service technician. How does he see working at ETNA?
When Glenn joined ETNA Coffee Technologies, the company was still in its start-up phase. The team was small and close-knit and he immediately felt at home here. "I had a great time, but after a year and a half I wanted to take a course to be a machinist. Unfortunately, it wasn't for me, so I stopped going. To find out what I really wanted, I started working at different companies through the employment agency. But nowhere did I feel more at home than at ETNA
While working at other companies, Glenn came to the conclusion that ETNA Coffee Technologies is a good employer: "I had a warm family feeling there, everyone is ready and willing to help you. The working conditions and salary are good and the company's future also looks bright. This was something I wanted to be a part of again. I contacted them and said that I wanted to come back, but was ready for a new challenge."
To develop himself further, Glenn was given the opportunity to study Mechatronics alongside his work in assembly. "A great opportunity for which I am very grateful! After graduating, I started as a service technician in the technical support team. I provide service to both dealers and end users and the diversity of work makes me very happy. One moment I’m doing administrative work, another I’m testing or on my way to a customer. No two days are the same!"
"Appreciation is important to me, as a staff member but also as a colleague. Here, I definitely get that, as well as a lot of freedom and responsibility to do my own job. Within ETNA, you are seen as a person and not a number."
How does Glenn see his future within our company? "In five years' time, I hope to be providing training to dealers so that they can give the right support to their customers. And that’s a real possibility, as I am well supported here and given opportunities to develop myself further. There are plenty of opportunities and here we are happy to think about them with you. I really feel like I belong here!"
