Stay for a cuppa at SABA

Welcome to the wonderful world of adhesives and sealants. Every day, SABA in Dinxperlo manufactures adhesives and sealants that are used around the world mattresses, furniture, trucks, construction and so on. In 2022, it opened a sustainable new building and installed new coffee machines. They deliberately chose to work with 2 local coffee suppliers: Den Leeuw Koffie Groep and ETNA Coffee Technologies.

The SABA site is a feast for the eyes. The brand new building has a sedum roof, is built with sustainable materials and offers plenty of light. At the heart of the building, there is a work café where guests and around 150 SABA HQ employees can enjoy a fresh lunch and a cuppa from the three ETNA Dorado Touch 7" Espresso Medium coffee machines together. The kitchenettes on the first floor also have two ETNA Dorado coffee machines for the office staff.

Coffee delivery speed

In the reception area next to the warehouse on the other side of the building, we find an ETNA Dorado Touch 7" instant coffee machine. The coffee delivery speed is particularly important for SABA there. In this particular spot, an instant machine is the perfect solution: a quality cup of coffee in 8 seconds. The drivers can grab a delicious coffee here on the go as they quickly continue their journey.

“WE FIND LOCAL SOURCING IMPORTANT, BECAUSE IT ENCOURAGES LOCAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP, KEEPS AN EYE ON THE ORIGINS OF THE PRODUCTS AND ALLOWS US TO RESPOND TO CUSTOMERS VERY QUICKLY"

Great coffee without obligation

Arjen Hagevoort handled the procurement of SABA's new construction project. “We chose Den Leeuw Koffie Groep because we did not want to be tied to a subscription or contract for our coffee supply.” Den Leeuw works with route sales representatives who keep their customers stocked up on coffee beans and associated products. They only invoice what has been consumed. Account Manager Leon Lans at Den Leeuw Koffie Groep tells us that they have deliberately chosen not to take a contract-based approach. "We aim for a long-term relationship and mutual trust. Our concept gives customers such as SABA piece of mind, and we have noticed that they really appreciate this." SABA prefers local suppliers from a sustainability perspective. “We find local sourcing important, because it encourages local entrepreneurship, keeps an eye on the origins of the products and allows us to respond to customers very quickly,” Arjen Hagevoort says.

Vision of collaboration

Leon continues: "We have noticed the same trust in our collaboration with ETNA that we offer to our customers like SABA. When I call ETNA to place an order or ask a technical question, I know who will be answering my call. We’ll handle it for you, Leon. This makes you feel valued as a customer. We share the same corporate culture and friendly interaction with each other. That really creates a connection."

Own branding

It is easy to add your own branding to ETNA coffee machines, even in small quantities. SABA's coffee machines show their own SABA company logo, which immediately adds a personal touch. “The customer can also show an event or several other images on the 7” touchscreen, for example. This makes the coffee machine a real communication channel. We can see that this happens a lot in practice," Leon says.

LONG LIFE SPAN
"I regularly see ETNA machines that have been operating for more than 10 years without regular proper cleaning and are still going strong. We often explain to our customers that ETNA components such as the metal Braumann brewer, last much longer than the plastic brewing units we find in other machines," Leon continues. "As an ETNA Dealer, we also like adapting the coffee machines to our customers' wishes. Double or single dispensing, with or without chocolate, large or small coffees. The drinks are easy to configure according to the user’s wishes."

Coffee machine cleaning and maintenance

Laura Beekema is a canteen employee at the SABA work café. "We serve freshly filled baguettes and two types of soup to our colleagues every day. And we have a meatball day once a week." Laura is in regular contact with Thijs van Den Leeuw Koffie Groep, who replenishes SABA's coffee stocks every two weeks. Laura also tops up the coffee machines with their ingredients and takes care of the coffee machines' daily and weekly cleaning together with her colleague. "The daily cleaning is done automatically by entering a code on the machine's service panel. We clean all machines with a cleaning tablet once a week. We go through a step-by-step programme for this. With 6 machines in the building, it's quite a job, but we do it with great pleasure for our colleagues!"
