Enjoy your coffee in a tropical atmosphere

Bahia in Bocholt, Germany, offers a family swimming pool and a modern wellness centre. Sebastiaan Kremer is responsible for all on-site hospitality services and guides us around the fully renovated and tastefully furnished restaurant of the wellness area. On an average Sunday, we serve around 300 cups. That’s quite a lot. More than many restaurants in the area."

ETNA Dorado Premium 10" medium

Bahia has 2 ETNA Dorado Premium 10" Medium coffee machines: one behind the bar of the wellness area and one in the self-service restaurant. The wellness area also uses an ETNA cup warmer and an ETNA MilkBase Connected Medium. The self service area near the swimming pool uses topping. “Because of the warm temperatures near the swimming pool, fresh milk is difficult to use here,” Sebastiaan explains.

Coffee culture in the Netherlands and Germany

Bocholt is located close to the Dutch border in Germany. Most of Bahia's guests are therefore German and Dutch. Sebastiaan sees some distinctive coffee culture differences between the two countries. “The Dutch – and especially our female Dutch guests –tend to drink latte macchiato and cappuccino. Our German guests usually prefer regular coffee or café crema. With or without sugar and milk.

Trust is key

The close cooperation with Imping Kaffee GmbH is important to Sebastiaan. Imping Kaffee is an official ETNA dealer and is also based in Bocholt. Sebastiaan says that he has a long-term business relationship with Imping Kaffee and that there is mutual trust. "Even if the machine were to experience a malfunction at the weekend or if we were to run low on products, I am sure that Michael (Prokurist Imping Kaffee GmbH, Managing Director of Genua GmbH) would help us out. This is key as far as I am concerned. It's a deciding factor in our excellent cooperation.”

CHOOSING AN ETNA COFFEE MACHINE
Sebastiaan mentions a number of factors that contributed to his decision to buy a new coffee machine. “The machine has to be long-lasting and work properly and we need a fast response in case there is a malfunction.” In short, the machine must do its job without any problems. Bahia’s 52 employees also need to be able to use the machine with ease. Importantly, the cleaning process has to be easy as well. We want as little delay as possible." According to Sebastiaan, that is a strong point of the ETNA coffee machine in comparison with other brands. “The cleaning program starts at the touch of a button and is much faster than that of our previous coffee machine,” Sebastiaan says.

COFFEE EXPERIENCE
The ETNA Dorado coffee machine's design and appearance were also important factors. "Guests come here to relax. This needs to be reflected in their coffee experience and the design of the coffee machine. The ETNA Dorado Medium Premium 10" has a really sleek, modern and luxurious design. It has a nice size and the cup warmer and MilkBase have the same look and feel. It is perfectly suited to our new bar, which also has a lot of black and steel elements. The coffee machine is the jewel in the crown for our guests!"
